Who we are    

Bankruptcy Software Specialists, LLC (BSS) is one of the nation’s leading providers of debt management software.  The major business focus is geared toward providing business application software that handles the tracking of trust funds to Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustees.  A Tennessee based company, BSS provides a vast array of services for Bankruptcy Trustees.  Although the core service revolves around our business application software, other services include our help line operations where trustees may seek professional assistance with daily business needs, training services, Internet related functions such as our 13network data inquiry product, and document processing.

The features of the CH13 Bankruptcy Software are as follows: 

SQL Database A database designed specifically for Chapter 13 Trustees, containing all data files related to debtors being supported within the debt management program, including pertinent personal data along with all data files related to creditors, including all disbursement calculation methods used.

   
     

Plan Calculation A program that will allow a trustee to determine the feasibility of Chapter 13 plans by changing certain variables.  It is widely used in the courtroom setting, as well as in the office setting, preparing for court.

   
     

Crystal Report Generation A program which will allow the trustee to select fields of data, condition that data and then report on that data, either via screen, hardcopy or exportation to file, for importation into a PC productivity tool, such as a word processing document or a spreadsheet.

   
     

Posting Module A program which will record debtor payments, including direct payments from debtors, wage order deductions from debtor employers and ACH payments taken directly from debtor bank accounts.

   
     

Disbursement Module A program that will issue payments, via check or electronic funds transfers, to parties-in-interest, including attorneys and creditors.

   
     

Audit Trails The system contains various audit trails including batch journals, posting registers, activity monitors and trace reports; all of the above basically analyzing all activity performed by users.  In addition, a large number of internal controls have been implemented assisting the trustee in the analysis of all office financial activity.

   
     

Inquiry Module A program that will allow users to view particular debtor data, including case, claim, debtor receipt information and disbursements to parties-in-interest payment information.

   
     

Check/Bank Reconciliation An automated service provided in conjunction with banks, in order to assist with the function of bank account reconciliation, bank to book.

   
     

13network Creditor Access System A setup of a separate database system, that allows trustees to provide secure access to debtor information, to parties-in-interest, via the Internet.

   
     

Form Letters/Reports A comprehensive program offering packaged and pre-designed forms, reports and letters, both electronic and paper based, including, but not limited to orders, motions, notices and annual debtor reports.  The user also has the ability to design their own reports.

   
     

Purge/Archive Module A program to purge and archive data for future retrieval.

   
     

Delinquency Module A program to track delinquent accounts with appropriate notices being sent to debtors for collection purposes.

   
     

Document Imaging and Scanning A fully integrated, on-line, linked module to the primary database allowing for the electronic storage and retrieval of paper documents, as well as electronically filed documents.

   
     

Online Faxing An integrated third party software package that will send fax communication, either from the Chapter 13 database or PC productivity tools.

   
     

Accounting Software Integration of the primary trust fund application interfacing to a general ledger for financial reporting considerations.  Designed for tracking data for purposes of monthly and annual financial reporting as well as budget preparation.

   
     

Training A key element to the effective use of the software is knowledge of the software.  BSS conducts on-site training geared to a particular trustee’s office, regional training geared to a particular region and general training held in Memphis.  The training can be tailored to the specific needs of a trustee for a particular purpose, ranging from complete training of office staff on the BSS software to specific classes related to the software or computer system.

   
     

Conversion BSS offers its technical expertise to the trustee in many different ways, but one of the most important aspects of the installation process of the BSS software is the conversion of data from a trustee’s previous system to the BSS system.  The key to a successful system installation is the accurate conversion of data, something that BSS takes most seriously and is quite comfortable with from the technical aspects of reading the information to the accounting aspects of balancing the financial information.

   
     

Help Desk Operations As daily challenges arise for each office, the users have the ability to access the BSS help line for assistance with the situations where they need additional input.  The BSS staff of programmers and software support specialists stands ready to assist a trustee’s operation when the need arises.

   
     

Yearly Seminar Each year, BSS holds a multi-day seminar at a designated location, hosted by the trustee(s) in that location.  The seminar is a highly productive training and networking gathering, used as an educational tool for trustees and their staff.  The intent is to not only demonstrate and discuss features of the software, but also to promote the concept of offices networking with each other, so that ideas may be shared on the way things are done in other trustees’ offices around the country.
